Jackie & Garrett
When I first met Jackie and Garrett, we grabbed coffee at Barnes & Noble, and it instantly felt like catching up with old friends. We laughed, swapped stories, and completely forgot that this was supposed to be a “meeting.” That kind of connection makes a difference — it allows me to photograph people the way someone who loves them would.
We began their engagement session at their brand-new home in Tyrone — which I found out is just up the road from me. There was something sweet about that. To start this chapter of their love story in the place where real life will unfold… morning coffees, picking paint colors, holidays on the porch. It felt right. It felt personal.
After soaking in the warmth of home, we took a short drive to the river — nothing flashy, nothing staged. Just the quiet kind of beauty you only notice when you slow down enough to look. The leaves were changing. The water shimmered as the sun dipped lower. They held each other like the world went soft around them. And in those small, simple moments… it was clear how steady their love is.
We ended the evening at Reservoir Park — a place I’ve run through a thousand times. But watching them together, it didn’t feel familiar at all.
It felt brand-new.
Like this little hometown park had been waiting for its story. The way they looked at each other… the way the air cooled just enough for him to pull her closer… it all felt like a scene from the kind of movie that makes you believe in love again.
Not every love story needs a plane ticket or a postcard backdrop.
Sometimes the most beautiful places are the ones you already know.
Sometimes magic hides right down the road.
And I’m so grateful I got to see Tyrone through their eyes — full of hope, full of laughter, full of something real that will last.
