Sage and Channing’s engagement photography session this March in Savannah, GA was picture perfect.
Sage and her mom came to my house for a wedding meeting in the summer.
They told me their idea was to have the engagement photography session take place in Savannah, GA. I was elated with the idea!
Traveling is my favorite thing to do in the whole world. I am very blessed to have a job that allows me to trot the globe.
The south is one of my favorite places to go. My husband and I try really hard to make sure we take our daughters somewhere new every year.
Ok, let’s fast forward to the trip down to Savannah…IT WAS LONG! I had the best wingman since Maverick and Iceman in Top Gun.
My daughter/assistant/second shooter came along to help with the session, and to keep me awake.
When we arrived in Savannah, we met Sage and Channing at a parking garage in downtown. There was a little French bakery right across the street. In case you didn’t know, I am a sucker for French bakeries! I had to go in and see if they sold macaroons. THEY DID!
I would have to say this was probably my most memorable engagement session to date. This was FUN, new and exciting. I absolutely loved this approach to photography. Shall we just walk around and see what we see? We did just that.
We trekked all over the city while Sage and Channing showed us some of their favorite places, and shared why they liked them. If you’ve never been there, please do yourself a favor and visit! Savannah has that old world charm meets southern coastal small town vibe and it totally works.
Sage and Channing met in high school, right after graduation, Channing joined the army. He was stationed in Georgia. Sage stayed in Pennsylvania to go to college. While he was on deployment in 2015, they began talking and in December of that same year, they made it official.
As soon as he returned to the United States, he came to visit her in Pennsylvania. They went on their first date and came to the mutual conclusion that THEY WERE GETTING MARRIED! Yes, their families thought they were crazy, but have since realized they are the “real deal.” 😉 I can vouch for that, as I photograph love stories all the time, these two have something truly special. Maybe it was the way he always put her on the inside of the sidewalk as we were walking, or how he offered to carry her (very large) purse around for her.
A charming gentleman and his beautiful bride-to-be toured us all around this wonderful town of Savannah, and I have to say, I can see why Sage fell in love with it. Savannah is beautiful. I will save more of their love story for the wedding blog post in a few months, and just leave you with these beautiful pictures.
One thing I will say as a professional photographer, it meant a lot to me to see the effort they both put into their outfit choices, hair and makeup. Sage and Channing stunned in their session, and were absolutely picture perfect.
