Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer | Toftrees Golf Resort Wedding

Kevin and Jessica had a stunning Toftrees State College wedding! This is one of my favorite venues in State College, not just because it is beautiful but because the staff is so amazing! I knew from the time I woke up in the morning that this day was going to go off without a hitch. I always love preparing for a wedding feeling completely confident and calm.

One of the reasons why I was so confident? Kevin and Jessica heeded my advice on their entire wedding day process. From the timing of the engagement photos. To the wardrobe. To the time of day for absolutely everything and their wedding day timeline! It really does make all the difference in the world! When I first met Kevin and Jessica, I knew they were the couple for me when Jessica said “so, do you want to work with us?” You guys, she is the sweetest thing on the planet. Said in her soft-spoken, eloquent voice. I fell in love with them on the spot! I knew we were going to create magic together!

It was a rainy fall day at the end of October. Jessica had her heart set on outdoor photographs and a ceremony on the lawn. Good thing for her that I pray often! I know that somehow, God always comes through for me on wedding day. We were able to do all of the detail shots and groom prep outside. Then, because of Kevin and Jessica really taking to heart my advice of how to get the MOST amount of pictures on wedding day, we headed to the forest for their first look. The rain held off for this too!

One reason I love a Toftrees State College wedding is because I know that there are so many awesome locations for portraits and first looks. Kevin stood nervous at the bottom of a little path through the woods. Right before she walked to meet her groom, Jessica looked at me. As a result, I got this awesome shot of her smiling.

After that, she walked down the wooded path to greet her soon to be groom! I hid in the bushes, it was awesome! I remember, she paused right before she turned him and put her hand to her mouth. She held back her tears.

However, she pulled herself together, grabbed her groom, and turned him towards her. It was pure magic. Somehow, I am not sure couples realize, a first look is EXCITING for me too! As a result, the pictures come out beautifully!

Jessica and Kevin shared some alone time with us shooting their portraits before the ceremony. There were absolutely NO distractions or interruptions. I didn’t have a videographer along interrupting our shots, vendors, staff or family interrupting our time together. Due to the fact that Kevin and Jessica really really trusted me. They trusted my experience and expert opinion.

The rain came pouring down! Because of this, the bride and groom made the decision to follow event coordinator Katie’s advice. Have the ceremony on the patio under a white tent!

After all the weddings I have shot at Toftrees, the patio and white tent were a first for me! I absolutely love her ceremony images! On wedding day, Jessica asked me if her pictures would suffer. I told her ABSOLUTELY NOT!
